Good Morning and a pleasant Tuesday! The school year is off and running…yesterday’s opening was definitely a paradigm shift to me with just having your schedule appointments arriving, but we get to welcome our new students throughout the week!

My first order of business is to get a grasp on your schedules and start to figure out the weekly calendar in respect with labs, direct instruction programs, and the other innovative ideas/programs you all would like to do.  I’ve turned the white board in rm 5 to a mini master schedule (for us visual learners) and when we meet on Friday we can all put our 2 cents in about the weekly flow.

John’s wife Elaine has offered to volunteer here at MV and hopefully we can get her to get the library up and running.  If you have any parents/adults that would like to volunteer, please send them my way!

Also on the agenda for Friday is the district-wide committees (SAC, curriculum council, etc), and we’ll need to take a look at which ones we need to attend.  If you have anything that needs to be on the agenda, please send my way.

A big shout out to Rob Garfinkle and student Mathias Conner for helping on Saturday to complete our new chicken coop.  Later this week, I’ll be making the order for some day-old chicks – if you or your friends are interested in a bird or 2, let me know since I typically order 25-50 (we only have room for 6).

Tomorrow evening Tracie and I will attend a meeting in Ventura to learn how to become an ‘official’ volunteer for the 4H.  4H should provide another opportunity for our community members.  If you would like to join us, let me know and I’ll get you registered.

Please don’t hesitate to invite me into your classrooms if you have a ‘special lesson’ or would like to share exciting student news with me…as you probably noticed from yesterday, you’ll see me quite often wondering in and out of your rooms hope that we can all build a great bond between the staff, our students, and community!

Lastly, as by now you’ve probably have figured out…from Dr. Peplinski’s intro on Wednesday and from all the ‘brass’ stopping by, the District expects great things from us…and I’m sure we won’t disappoint!

Take your kids on a virtual field trip*, keep smiling and let’s all make it a great day!
